"Basic models of flocking behavior are controlled by three simple rules:
•Separation (behavior) - avoid crowding neighbors (short range repulsion)
•Alignment (behavior) - steer towards average heading of neighbors
•Cohesion (behavior) - steer towards average position of neighbors (long range attraction)
In 1986 Craig Reynolds created 'Boids' - a program that simulates the flocking of birds by abiding the three algorythmic rules presented above. These three simple rules provides us with a seemingly flawless simulation of flocking birds. In this series of work the simulated birds get the chance to fly alongside the birds of reality" - Nicola Bergström Hansen

"Between 2005 and 2006 I collected all the issues of 'Stockholm City', a free newspaper. In the last section of the newspaper there was half a page titled 'Stockholm City-SMS'. The reader could send in SMS's to the newspaper and have them published a few days later. The SMS's were often of a very private nature.
In 2007 I wanted to make sense of the archive of thousands of SMS's I had collected over the course of two years. So I started to arrange all the clippings I had. Placed next to each other these conversation all seemed so much alike, they all had a similar beginning and most of them shared the same end." - Nicola Bergström Hansen
